About this event

Jazz Vocabulary and Solo Dancing Solo jazz can be kind of scary! We often say in Lindy Hop that we should be should be creative in our dancing, but how do you do that? In this class, I’ll be going over the basics of Solo Jazz, and how to put it in your dancing. This is NOT a class on solo routines. All you need to know are Basic Charleston and 8-count. Come join me and pretty soon, you be pushing and crossing over all through the dance floor! PRE-REQUISITES: Students must know 6-count/8-count/Charleston basic rhythms, be able to do at least 3 swingouts in a row, incorporate individual footwork variations in their dancing, enter and exit tandem Charleston, find the “1” in music, stay on beat, and connect with their partner in a comfortable way. No partner necessary.
